Clean and Simple Christmas Card

Back again, with the gorgeous colours from ColourQ challenge #98.  This time I’ve teamed them up with Fall to Layout #153 AND CAS-ual Fridays #15.

I’ve created a card combining the colour challenge, the above layout AND kept it clean and simple!  In addition to this, the card features a sneak peek of a gorgeous vintage style Christmas stamp set from the new Stampin’ Up! catalogue.

How cool is this stamp set?  Even though this challenge was for Clean and Simple, I cannot wait to use this set on a layered, totally over-the-top Christmas card.

Stamps: Winter Post, Merry and Type

Ink: Crumb Cake, Lucky Limeade, Soft Suede, Whisper White Craft

Paper: Confetti White, Soft Suede, Island Indigo, Tropical Party DSP (retired)

Other: Scallop Trim Punch, Decorative Label Punch

I’ll be back tomorrow with another card using these colours – thanks for looking!

Just Add ColourQ

I was blog hopping and came across the latest ColourQ challenge, and totally fell in love with the colours.  Since my mojo has gone missing after 9 days straight of sick kids (Em has the bug now…) I decided to combine it with the latest Just Add Ink sketch challenge.

See those gorgeous colours???  They make me think of summer, it’s a distant memory in my brain but I cannot wait to see it again!  AND, they match my new blog colours!  I hope to pair these colours up with a couple of sketch challenges I came across today, but since the Just Add Ink challenge ends tonight, I chose to use that first.

I had to change the challenge as I don’t have any Bermuda Bay ink or cardstock, so I’ve swapped it for Tempting Turquoise.  There are a couple of new ink colours on this card, can you see them?

Stamps: Extreme Elements, Extreme Guitar

Ink: Soft Suede, Tempting Turquoise, Crumb Cake, Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo

Paper: Confetti White, Soft Suede, Whisper White, Island Indigo, Hoppy Memories (from a retired Simply Scrappin’ Kit)

Other: Mat Pack, Tempting Turquoise buttons, Linen Thread, Crumb Cake Marker, Timeless Type Junior Sizzlit Alphabet.

Thanks for visiting!

Flirtatious Fabric Ditty Bag!

Yet another sneak peek for you today – this time in the form of the brand new Stampin’ Up! fabric.  I’ve used a piece from the Flirtatious Fabric pack, this is one of three designs in the package.  The colours in this pack are bright and fun, perfect as a  small make-up bag!  This bag will be a Christmas pressie for a friend, we plan to pop some nail polish in matching colours inside it.

This cute little bag is made from a Keyka Lou pattern (great patterns on her site!), and uses just under half  of this particular piece of fabric.  The bag is lined in a pale pink Amy Butler cotton, and the zipper is from my local ‘big box’ craft store. Even though it doesn’t look it in the picture, the hot pink zipper is a perfect match to the darker pink in the fabric.

Hope you enjoyed this peek at a brand new product line from Stampin’ Up!  I have a clutch purse in a totally different print under construction, so I’ll come back and share that one when it’s finished.

Kim’s Birthday Card and a sneak peek!

Don’t fall off your chair there 🙂  Yes, I’m actually posting a card on my blog today.

This is the first card I have made since my last post almost 3 months ago.  I couldn’t get away with choosing a birthday card for Kimberley from my stash since she has seen them all.   I had some brand new goodies to play with too which made this card lots of fun.  As I was unwell and left my card making until the last minute, I have cased the design for Kim’s card from Nichole Heady’s blog.  I saw a card very similar to this a few months back and loved it.

Some of the items I’ve used are from the brand new Stampin’ Up! catalogue which begins on September 1st.  If you would like a copy to drool over, please email me.

Stamps: Ornate Blossom, Delicate Doilies, Up, Up & Away and Zoo Review

Ink: Rose Red, Crumb Cake, Black Stazon, Basic Black, Whisper White

Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake

Other: Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Corner Rounder, Melon Mambo Button, Linen Thread, Blender Pens, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Sewing Machine, Pinking Shears

Thanks for visiting – I plan on being back much sooner next time!

New goodies and a birthday!

I had this page photographed and all ready to go today, but forgot to upload the pics to my computer.  And then of course I remembered while I was clothes shopping with my girls (did I mention that this is particularly stressful on a Saturday afternoon???  I have no idea what clothes we came home with, but the kids are happy 🙂 ).

Here’s a sneak peek of my page which you can see on the Stamp a Memory website.  I’ve used some brand new goodies which appear in the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue, available April 1st.

March Stamp-a-Memory Challenge

It’s challenge time at Stamp-a-memory, and this month we were challenged to scraplift a layout from the Stampin’ Up! Idea Book and Catalogue.  I kept coming back to a card on page 10 of the catalogue, it’s a sample for the Birthday Bakery stamp set and I just love all of the scallop layers on it.  One day I will get around to CASEing the actual card.

I sketched out the layout on scrap paper, and then turned it 90 degrees to the left.  I used the main image section as the position for my photos, the dsp section on the left became my title area.

Surprise, surprise I’ve scrapped more Disneyland photos.  These are from our Breakfast with Minnie and her friends at the Plaza Inn.  It’s an all you can eat meal with yummy foods like Mickey Mouse waffles 🙂  Chloe has a freshly bandaged chin as it’s the day after her Halloween visit to an Anaheim hospital.

Anyway, if you look at the card I cased, and turn your head sideways you’ll see how I arrived at my scrap page layout.

Please go and visit Stamp-a-Memory to see everyone’s March Challenge layouts and leave them some comment love!

Stamps: From the Kitchen Of

Ink: Early Espresso, Melon Mambo

Paper: River Rock, Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White, Melon Mambo Prints.

Other: Buttons, Pennant Die (for the scallop edges), Concord Crush ribbon, various punches, dimensionals, chipboard letters (retired)

Vintage Style Easter Card

I was itching to play with my Easter Blossoms stamp set, I just love it’s vintage style and the silhouette image is to die for, so I spent some time this morning making a couple of Easter cards.

I have handstamped the main silhouette image onto rustic style Confetti cardstock. Confetti has gorgeous flecks throughout the cardstock, which add to the vintage feel. Carefully sponged edges complete the vintage theme for the main image.

On the background piece, I have subtly stamped blossoms onto textured River Rock cardstock. This has also been sponged to provide some depth to the card. A pair of pearl accents and pink striped grosgrain ribbon complete this card.

The back flap of the envelope has been stamped with the same blossoms, and also sponged to create some interest. One of the blossom branches extends over to the top left corner of the front of the envelope.  Here’s a pic of the back flap of the envelope to show you what I mean.  It’s such an easy thing to do when you make a card, and costs nothing but a couple of minutes 🙂

I also decorated the inside of the card to match – it’s a bit difficult to write on Basic Gray cardstock, so I figured I should.  The inside of the card has a layer of River Rock, and then another layer of Confetti White cardstock.  I stamped the same blossoms on the Confetti piece in River Rock ink and of course, sponged everything again!

Thanks for looking,  I have added both of these cards to my Etsy shop (button over on the left) if you really love them 🙂

Chloe’s Birthday Card

So here it is – Chloe’s 8th birthday card!  I combined this with the February Creative Crew challenge to use trinkets on a card.  We have the Vintage Trinkets and Mini Vintage Tags in our Summer Mini catalogue, so I’ve used those on Chloe’s card.

Since my girl is so horse obsessed, her birthday card had to involve horses.  I stamped the pony from Pony Party onto watercolour paper and coloured it using Aquapainters.  I then cut my pony girl out and popped her up on dimensionals onto two layered Whisper White circles.

Stamps: Pony Party, So Happy for You, Calendar Alphabet & Numbers

Ink: Early Espresso, Black Stazon, Soft Suede, Regal Rose, So Saffron

Paper: Soft Suede, Elegant Soiree DSP, Whisper white, Regal Rose Prints

Other: Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon, Vintage Trinkets, Vintage Mini Tags, Sticky Strip, Circle Scissors, Dimensionals, Bigz XL Pennant Die (saffron scallop edge)

Happy Birthday Miss Chloe!

Happy Birthday to my sweet, horse loving, music loving {EIGHT} year old girl 🙂

I can only share a little of her birthday card with you today because it’s part of February’s Creative Crew challenges on Splitcoaststampers – and it’s not up on Splitcoast until midday US time.   I have set up a post for tomorrow which shows the full card.

I’m off to go and enjoy my girl’s birthday with her!

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge 55 ~ Hugs and Kisses

Valentine’s Day is on it’s way, and I’ve been trying to get organised and make some cards for my etsy shop.  I used Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #55 for this card layout, and I like it so much I think I’ll make some more!

For the avid Stampin’ Up! collectors among you, you might be wondering where I found this ‘hugs & kisses’ stamp.   You can find this stamp on the ‘I {Love} Love’ jumbo wheel.  I simply removed the rubber from the wheel, cut the wheel up into individual stamps and popped it on some EZ-mount to use it as a regular clear mount stamp.

The background tiles on this card are simply punched squares of Very Vanilla cardstock.  I stamped them with the dotted lines from the ‘Notes and Details’ stamp set.  After I did that, I inked up the whimsical heart flowers from ‘Love Defined’ with my markers and stamped them repeatedly across the bottom of the card.  It’s difficult to see in the pic, but I also stamped the heart banner image across the top row of squares.

I sponged the edges of everything with Crumb Cake ink, some ruffled Pretty in Pink satin ribbon and half back pearls complete the vintage appearance!

Stamps: Love Defined, I {Love} Love, Got Treats, Notes and Details, Confetti

Ink: Crumb Cake, Pretty in Pink, Pink Pirouette, Rose Red, Early Espresso

Paper: Early Espresso, Rose Red, Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla

Other: Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon, Dimensionals, Curly Label punch, Half Back Pearls
