A Pinterest CASE

Another great option when you are completely stuck for card ideas is browsing on Pinterest.  Of course you had better make sure you have a couple of spare hours once you start on there 🙂

I needed to make a card/money holder last week for someone heading over to see my favourite mouse.  I found THIS card on Pinterest, and I’ve pretty much cased it exactly.  Here’s my version:

Stamps: Delicate Doilies, Friendly Phrases

Ink: Basic Black, Daffodil Delight

Paper: Daffodil Delight, Basic Black, Whisper White, Patterned Paper (other)

Other: Wide Oval Punch, Elegant Frames Embossing Folder, Dimensionals, Circle Punches

Chloe’s Birthday Card!

My sweet Miss Relle is turning 9 tomorrow, and since she adores horses her card had to feature a horse.  I’ve used Pony Party many times for her cards, I wanted to use a different horse! lol!

I managed to take a photo of this card without Chloe seeing it, so I thought I would share this one a day early.  I found a silhouette image of a horse in google and printed it out on printer paper.  Then I cut it out, and traced around it onto the gorgeous Everyday Enchantment designer series paper from the Sale-a-bration catalogue.  I cut this horse out, and using some tombow attached it to a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock.  THEN I cut the horse out again, leaving a thin Poppy Parade border around it.

The background behind the horse has been stamped using the Candle Crazy builder wheel in Poppy Parade ink.  Every layer has been sponged with Soft Suede ink to create a vintage appearance.  I think the rest of it is pretty self explanatory, but if you have any questions please ask 🙂  Now I have to go and make a chocolate horseshoe cake, in Black Caviar racing colours!!!  Wish me luck.

A Surprise Birthday Card

Chloe has a surprise birthday party for a friend tomorrow, and I’ve almost cleaned out my stash of cards.  I needed to come up with a card for Charlotte and since inspiration was lacking I have combined two challenges to create this card.  The first challenge was Colour Q #119 using Pretty in Pink, Going Gray, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo and Whisper White.  The second challenge was Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge #367.  Here they both are 🙂

Stamps: Pennant Parade, Delicate Doilies, Outlined Occasions (Sale-a-bration set, available Jan 25)

Paper: Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Subtles stack DSP

Ink: Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Pretty in Pink, Going Gray

Other: Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Petite Pennants punch, White Baker’s Twine, Blender Pen.

This gorgeous greeting set will be available during Sale-A-Bration – Jan 25 ~ March 31.  Isn’t it cute???

A Little Princess Birthday!

The Little Princess stamp set is perfect for making girly cards, and today that included our 2 year old neighbour Lucija.

The card base is Confetti White.  I’ve used some Pool Party In Colour Prints, along with a piece of the retired Sweet Stitches DSP.  The gorgeous princess is coloured using blender pens on watercolour paper.

We made some bedding for Lucija’s dolls, and I decided to make the card in colours to match it.  Here’s a photo of the doll bedding.  There’s a sleeping bag, pillow and blanket, all made in flannelette and gingham.

Now that the power is back on, I’m going back to making a few more bags using the stunning Spice Cake fabric.  I hope to show you them in the next day or two.

Splitcoast Colour Challenge 335

Wow – three posts in a week, hope you have recovered from the shock of it all 🙂

It’s been a busy week here, two sick kiddos, several birthdays and one hubby with a squished new car {(luckily he wasn’t in it) – to the genius truck driver in the Bunnings Narre Warren car park, how on earth could you not see a bright red car???}

Anyway, I needed another 10th birthday card this week, and decided to use the Splitcoaststampers Colour Challenge #335 – Kraft, Red, Yellow (and green).  To make it even easier, I CASEd a layout from the brand new Stampin’ Up! catalogue.  If you have the catalogue in your hands, the card I CASEd is on the top of page 34.

Cool huh?  I was pretty happy with this card (although that WAS after a glass of wine…)  This one would be super easy to customise for the recipient in any colour and wheel.

Stamps: Solid Stripes, Bring on the Cake, Birthday Builder Wheel, Candle Crazy Builder Wheel, In Stitches Jumbo Wheel.

Ink: Crumb Cake, Riding Hood Red, So Saffron, Lucky Limeade

Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Lucky Limeade, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White

Other: Scallop Trim Punch, Petite Pennants Punch, Timeless Type Junior Sizzlit Alphabet, Celery Brad, Linen Thread, Dimensionals, Ribbon from Dress-Up Originals (retired), bamboo skewer.

Em’s birthday invitations

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mums out there!  I hope you have had a lovely day so far.

I have just finished up Emma’s 5th birthday invitations, after watercolouring them last night.  Yes, it’s a little crazy to watercolour invitations, but I had fun and they were pretty easy to do.

The main image is obviously not an SU stamp, but if you look around your local ‘big box’ craft store I’m sure you will find these stamps 🙂 The rest of the invitations are all Stampin’ Up!

Ink: Black Stazon, More Mustard (Pooh bear), Poppy Parade, Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise and Crumb Cake.

Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White and Peach Parfait.

Big Shot: Polka Dots Embossing Folder

Other: Peach Parfait ribbon, dimensionals.

Here’s a closeup of the turquoise invitation.

Have a wonderful day!

Chloe’s Birthday Card

So here it is – Chloe’s 8th birthday card!  I combined this with the February Creative Crew challenge to use trinkets on a card.  We have the Vintage Trinkets and Mini Vintage Tags in our Summer Mini catalogue, so I’ve used those on Chloe’s card.

Since my girl is so horse obsessed, her birthday card had to involve horses.  I stamped the pony from Pony Party onto watercolour paper and coloured it using Aquapainters.  I then cut my pony girl out and popped her up on dimensionals onto two layered Whisper White circles.

Stamps: Pony Party, So Happy for You, Calendar Alphabet & Numbers

Ink: Early Espresso, Black Stazon, Soft Suede, Regal Rose, So Saffron

Paper: Soft Suede, Elegant Soiree DSP, Whisper white, Regal Rose Prints

Other: Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon, Vintage Trinkets, Vintage Mini Tags, Sticky Strip, Circle Scissors, Dimensionals, Bigz XL Pennant Die (saffron scallop edge)

A Little Bit of Magic

I’m still trying to use up my Designer Series Paper, this time the Level 3 Hostess Hand Drawn pack.  This paper is gorgeous, I don’t know why I haven’t used it sooner.  (maybe it was buried amongst the other paper???)

So my challenge to myself for the rest of this week is to use the rest of this pack of paper!  That’s space for one totally brand new pack in September 🙂

I had lots of fun colouring in this cute fairy image (from a set in the US Summer Mini Catalogue).  I haven’t included all the ink colours below because there were a ton of them – actually they are still all over my stamping desk, and there’s at least 15 of them! lol!

Stamps: A Little Bit of Magic, On Your Birthday

Paper: Kraft, Whisper White, Hand Drawn DSP, Old Olive

Ink: Assorted

Other: Twill Tape, Circle Scissors, Playground Buttons, Lots of Tags Sizzlit, Mat Pack

Everything’s Saffron!

I’ve been trying to use up some of my rather large collection of Designer Series Paper – to clear some space for the new stuff I’m sure I’ll NEED in September!  I’m also trying to use up some Twill, which I’ve had forever.  I saw some cards using the twill as ribbon, and I just love how it looks on a Kraft card.

Today’s card uses So Saffron Prints Paper, and the set For Everything from the Summer Mini Catalogue.  I’m hoping it will reappear in the new catalogue…

This is a birthday card for a girl who loves everything yellow.  If you are that girl’s mum – look away now 🙂

Stamps: For Everything, Birthday Wish

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Real Red, Bashful Blue, Sahara Sand

Paper: Kraft, Whisper White, So Saffron Prints, So Saffron

Other: Twill Tape, Button Latte, Circle Scissors, Mat Pack, Soft Subtles Brads, lots of Dimensionals!

Let’s Celebrate!

I just love the Animal Crackers stamp set – it’s cute, and super easy to use for a variety of occasions.  I made this card the other day while the kids were otherwise occupied 🙂

The label shape behind the duck is from the Stampin’ Up! Lots of Tags Sizzlits.  At only $39.95, these are absolutely fantastic for all kinds of cards and 3d objects.

Stamps: Animal Crackers, On Your Birthday

Ink: Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Sahara Sand

Paper: So Saffron, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Haiku Designer Series Paper

Other: The BIG SHOT, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, Lots of Tags Sizzlits, Circle Punches, Saffron Grosgrain Ribbon, Button Bouquet, Linen Thread, Eyelet Border Punch, Dimensionals.
